NARA Selfridge is located aboard Selfridge Air National Guard Base, Mt Clemens, Michigan (just NE of Detroit).

Enlisted paygrades in the Navy are
The "(AW)" designation means that I am qualified as an Enlisted Aviation Warfare Specialist. Basically, this means that I have a pretty broad and fairly deep knowlege and practical understanding of Naval Air power's use, practices and maintainence. The other enlisted warfare designations (none of which I have) are SS (SubSurface), SCW (Seabee Combat Warfare) and SW (Surface Warfare).
A SELRES is a part-time Sailor. The current on-going obligation for
a SELRES is to attend one weekend of Reserve drill (usually classroom or
On-the-Job Training (OJT)) each month, plus one two-week period on active
duty with the gaining command. I spend my drill weekend at NAVAIRESCEN
Selfridge, where I am the Training Officer for my Reserve unit, teach
classes on computing topics and supervise an Information Systems shop,
keeping the computers on station running. I periodically spend my weekend
drill period at NAS Norfolk. For my two-week Annual Training (AT) period,
I travel to one of the Naval Air Staions, or Naval Air Facilities, or work
on special computing projects for active-duty commands.
